Frequently Asked Questions

What do United Methodists believe?

As a part of the global United Methodist Church family, we adhere to a set of Bible-based, God inspired set of beliefs set forth by our denomination. To learn more about United Methodist beliefs, CLICK HERE.

Where should I park? Is there handicapped parking?

The building is surrounded on three sides by parking. The easiest way to park is to enter at the north end of the lot via Company Street off Church Street. Then you can choose which lot you want to park in. There are several handicapped parking spots – all located in the east parking lot where there is also a ramp to the doors and a push button automatic door to enter the building.

Which door should I enter?

We have three different entrances you can come through.

If you park in the east parking lot (off Church Street), it’s easiest to enter through the main glass doors. We also have a ramp that leads up to these doors. There is also a push-button to open these doors.

If you park in the north lot (immediately off Company Street), you can enter through Cushing Hall doors – which also feature a push-button.

If you park in the west lot, you can come in the double glass doors, but know there are stairs that need to be traversed.

What should I expect?

If you come for worship, expect to be greeted warmly and welcomed into the Sanctuary. You are welcome to sit wherever you would like.

If you come to the Sunday morning service, expect a traditional service with some contemporary aspects sprinkled in. There might be a vocal or bell choir performing, and there will be a children’s message.

If you come on Saturday evening (first and third Saturdays of each month at 5:30pm), you can expect a casual, 45-minute service with mainly contemporary music.

On the first weekend of each month, we serve Holy Communion at each service.

What should I wear?

You are welcome to wear what you feel comfortable in. We have people who wear a tie, and others wear shorts and a t-shirt.

Is there Sunday School?

We have Sunday School for all ages. Currently, the children’s Sunday School time begins after the children’s message (about 9:15am) and runs through the end of the service (about 10:00am).

We offer youth and adult Sunday School following the worship service (about
10:15am).

There is always time to grab some delicious refreshments between worship and Sunday School!

Is there Children's Church or a nursery available?

Children are invited to come to worship with their parents, and come forward for the children’s message. After that is completed, they are invited to head to Sunday School.

Nursery (up to age 5) is available every Sunday morning and for the Saturday evening service by request.

Is the church available for weddings, funerals, etc.?

Most definitely! Please contact the church for more information.
